Sometimes a batch must say something about a page that cannot be scanned well, or is not there: the original was poor, a page is missing, the client kept an original. A virtual page is a page DocView Capture makes for you, a notice in large letters or an image you uploaded, which you insert into the batch exactly where it belongs. It becomes a real page of the batch: it is exported with the documents and whoever reads them sees it.
Insert a virtual page
On Scan and on Quality check:
- Select the page the notice belongs to (or none, to add it at the end).
- Click Virtual page on the ribbon, or right-click the page and choose Insert a virtual page.
- Choose where it goes: before or after the selected page, or at the end of the batch.
- Click the notice or image to insert.
The page is added in that place and in the same document. It is recorded in the batch's history (who inserted which notice, in which step).
The notices offered
Ready-made: Poor quality original, Page missing, Page intentionally blank, Original retained by client and Large format scanned separately.
Administration › Batch Settings › Virtual pages changes them and adds your own:
- Name: the heading of the notice.
- Notice printed on the page: the words under it.
- Image: upload a PNG, JPEG or TIFF (a stamp, a sample cover page) to use instead of the notice.
- Offered for these Batch Setups: tick the ones that offer it; none ticked offers it everywhere.
- Order, and Offered on Scan and QC to switch it off.
Each one shows a preview of the page as it will be inserted.
