A Route script runs whenever a step is completed and may send the batch elsewhere: here batches with an invoice over 1,000 go from Validation to an Approval step, others go straight to export. Route scripts also do sampling, escalation and skipping of steps.
Try it
Create a Batch Setup from this template (Batch Setups › New Batch Setup, tab System features), and download its sample documents from the template's card (Download samples). Then: Import invoices.pdf (one invoice is over 1,000) and complete Validation: the batch goes to Approval. Import a batch with small invoices only: it is exported straight after Validation.
